Windrose boss fights are pattern-based, not DPS checks. You can beat every boss with base gear if you learn their attack patterns. Here's the correct order and exactly how to counter each one.

1. Coastal Jungle Boss — First Target

Why first: Defeating this boss unlocks the Foothills region, opening up new farming areas and quests.

Strategies: The Coastal Jungle boss uses slow, telegraphed attacks. Stay mobile, learn the 3-hit combo pattern (block the first two, dodge the third — it's a red-glint unblockable). Bring Spicy Chicken for +10 Vitality. This is the easiest boss in the game — a warm-up for what's ahead.

2. Thomas Richards — Mid-Game Wall

Preparation: Bring Elixir of Cruelty, bandages, and healing pots. This is the first real skill check — don't attempt under-leveled.

Phase 1: Thomas uses wide sweeping attacks. Keep mid-range and bait his charge attack — punish it with 2 hits, then back off.

Phase 2: He adds ground AOEs and a lunging stab. Use the Revenge heal mechanic — retaliate after getting hit for HP recovery. When he glows red, dodge immediately (unblockable).

3. Charon's Obols — Endgame Challenge

Strategy: This boss has a shield bubble that must be destroyed first. Use ranged weapons or abilities to break the shield, then punish during the exposed window.

Ranged damage window: Once the shield is down, the boss is vulnerable for 5–6 seconds. Hit hard and fast, then prepare to dodge. Repeat until dead. Bring Fish Chowder for Agility buff to dodge faster.

4. Boss Combat Fundamentals

  • Red-glint attacks cannot be blocked — dodge always
  • 2-hit rule: Attack twice, then dodge. Greed kills.
  • Lock on (T key) — without it, dodges don't track the boss
  • Eat two foods before every boss fight (stacking buffs)
  • Revenge heal — retaliate after taking damage for HP recovery
Boss order summary: Coastal Jungle (opens Foothills) → Thomas Richards (bring Elixir) → Charon's Obols (break shield → ranged damage). All bosses are pattern-based — learn the dance, win the fight.
