Windrose is a pirate survival adventure from developer Kraken Express, co-published with Pocketpair Publishing. Reading the Steam store page on August 18, 2026, Windrose carried an 88% "Very Positive" rating across 28,010 all-time reviews.

Coverage stance: We have Kraken Express's own Steam listing and playwindrose.com pages, dated as of this reading, and nothing else — we have not played Windrose. Windrose runs no redeemable code system, so there is no codes page here; see "Why There Are No Codes" below.

Background

Windrose launched into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 14, 2026, built on Unreal Engine by Kraken Express and published with Pocketpair Publishing. The 82% positive rating across the most recent 1,324 reviews tracks close to the all-time 88% figure above. Kraken Express's own listing states Early Access is expected to run roughly 1.5 to 2.5 years before a full 1.0 release.

How the Game Works

Per the official site and Steam listing, this is a PvE survival adventure set in the Age of Piracy: players explore a procedurally generated world of islands across three biomes with hand-crafted dungeons, gather resources, build bases, construct and upgrade ships, and craft gear. Combat is described as soulslite, with boss encounters on land and sea alongside naval combat. The game plays solo or in co-op with up to eight players.

Why There Are No Codes

Windrose has no in-game redemption code system — nothing on Kraken Express's Steam listing or playwindrose.com mentions one. Searching the name alongside "codes" surfaces only third-party pages listing developer console commands and item spawn IDs — debug tools, not anything a player redeems through a menu. We will build a codes page if Kraken Express ever ships one.

Update Rule

We do not state a review figure, launch detail or feature without Kraken Express's own Steam listing or official site behind it, and we do not call a console command or item ID a "code" because a third-party page uses the word.
