A tracker that invents codes has no incentive to build an archive of dead ones. Dead codes generate no traffic, cannot be redeemed by a reader checking the claim, and take real work to maintain. Fabricated code lists are almost always active-only, because the entire point of the fabrication is the promise that something still works. Retiring a code is the opposite move: it is a publisher voluntarily telling you that a reward is gone. A page that has performed that unrewarding act 296 times has demonstrated a maintenance habit that a fabricator does not have.
The archive is also internally coherent in ways that would be very hard to fake. Reading through it, the oldest entries are Naruto-character-themed strings from the Shinobi Life 2 era — BoruShiki!, SPNarumaki!, SarachiaAkuma! — and the recent end is patch and incident codes like sorryaboutthevent!! and Rykanfanbanz!. Among the 42 active entries, the only patch numbers appearing in code names are 250 and 249 (PatchUpdate249point5!, ThankYouForPatience249Patch!). Among the 296 expired entries, the highest patch numbers are 239 and 238 (FixG4me239!, Gem239!, FixingGame238!, FixGem238!). Not one expired code names patch 249 or 250, and not one active code names 238 or 239. The active and dead sets are cleanly separated by patch number, in the direction you would expect, with the live figure matching the game's own title.
The practical use for you is this: a code naming a patch number is a checkable claim. If you see a Shindo Life code advertised for patch 251 or 260 while the game's title still reads [250], it is describing a patch that has not shipped. That is a test you can run yourself in a few seconds by looking at the game's title on its Roblox page.

Expiry — What Is Actually Published
No source we checked publishes an expiry date for any current Shindo Life code. Not Roblox Den, not GamesRadar, not Pro Game Guides. We are not going to invent one. What the evidence does show is that these codes are short-lived: the expired archive has grown to 296 entries, patch-numbered codes stop working within roughly a patch cycle, and the gap between the live patch (250) and the newest expired patch code (239) tells you how quickly the turnover runs. Treat anything on this page as something to redeem today rather than bookmark.
There is one hard limit that is not an expiry but will still cost you rewards. Roblox Den states that once your character reaches 500 Spins in game, codes will no longer grant any further Spins. If you are sitting near that cap, spend down before redeeming or the Spin half of each reward is wasted.

If a code does not claim, the realistic explanations are a transcription slip, the 500-Spin cap, or the code having already expired — which, on this game, is the most likely of the three.
When New Codes Drop
There is no fixed schedule. Shindo Life codes arrive in bursts attached to patches, hotfixes and apology-for-downtime moments, which is why so many of them carry a patch number or a phrase like "ThankYouForPatience" in the string itself. The game description points players to the RELL and RELLWorld Roblox groups for perks, and the API's last-updated date is the practical tell: when it moves, a code burst usually follows within a day or two.
