Background

Golden Spirit was developed by HOOLAI GAME LIMITED and published by KLab Games and Beijing-based Wanda Cinemas Games, founded 2011, per AnimeCorner. A closed beta test ran May 15–29, 2026 across the US, UK, Canada and France, per Notebookcheck. The game was originally slated for July 16, 2026 and pushed to August 13, 2026, launching worldwide excluding Japan at 09:00 UTC, per the official launch post and Notebookcheck's report on the date lock. Pre-registration passed 2,000,000 signups before launch, clearing every milestone tier.

At this check, the App Store listing (read August 18, 2026) shows version 1.0.4, a 1.9 GB download, an age rating of 9+, and Astrogem packs priced $0.99–$99.99 — an early sample five days after launch, not a settled verdict. AppBrain's tracking page, read the same day, estimates roughly 22,000 Google Play downloads and shows no Google Play rating yet.

How the Game Works

Apple's own App Store listing describes Golden Spirit as combining "3D Modeling + Live2D" with a 360° camera and real-time weather, where players assemble teams of characters with Stand abilities for turn-based combat built around Rush mechanics, across story campaigns, World Boss battles and ranked PvP. Notebookcheck's report adds that battles run on an 11-panel tactical grid across 18 environments with real-time weather, scored by Yugo Kanno, composer of the Stardust Crusaders anime soundtrack. The roster spans all six parts of the series, Phantom Blood through Stone Ocean, with more than 50 characters cited across launch coverage. That is the honest limit of what we can state first-party. We have not played Golden Spirit and are not going to describe matchup mechanics or damage numbers from unofficial guide sites — if we cannot trace it to an official page or a named, dated outlet, it does not go on this page.
