Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is Ubisoft's turn-based strategy prequel, developed by Unfrozen and co-published with Hooded Horse. This hub is built entirely from Unfrozen and Ubisoft's own Steam and news pages, since we have no live-stats API for this game. Reading the Steam store page on August 18, 2026, the game carried an 86% "Very Positive" rating across 6,292 all-time reviews.

Coverage stance: We have Unfrozen and Ubisoft's own Steam listing, dated roadmap posts, and dated press coverage of the April 30, 2026 launch — and nothing else. Olden Era runs no redeemable code system, so there is no codes page here — see "Why There Are No Codes" below.

Background

Olden Era launched into Early Access on Steam, Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass on April 30, 2026, developed by Unfrozen and published by Hooded Horse and Ubisoft. It sold 250,000 copies in 24 hours; RPG Site reported lifetime sales past one million on May 29, 2026. Ubisoft's May 28, 2026 roadmap names near-term work on a teamplay mode and hero rebalancing, with no date for 1.0. The latest event, the Alvari Cup, started August 1, 2026: 16 competitors in a single-elimination bracket organised by Behemoth's Lair, Ubisoft, Hooded Horse and Unfrozen.

How the Game Works

Per the Steam listing, Olden Era combines empire building and RPG mechanics in turn-based tactical strategy across six factions, each with its own units and heroes, on the continent of Jadame. Three ways to play: single-player campaign, online multiplayer, local hotseat, plus a map editor. That is the extent of what Unfrozen and Ubisoft state first-party — we are not ranking factions or describing combat mechanics the listing itself does not spell out.

Why There Are No Codes

Olden Era has no in-game redemption code system — nothing in Unfrozen or Ubisoft's Steam listing, news posts or store page mentions one. Searching the name alongside "codes" surfaces only third-party CD-key resale sites and unofficial "cheats and codes" pages listing console-style commands, not anything redeemable in-game. Neither is a publisher-run code system. We will build a codes page if Unfrozen or Ubisoft ever ship one.

Update Rule

We do not state a sales figure, roadmap item or tournament detail without Ubisoft's own page or a dated report behind it, and we do not call something a "code" because a reseller or cheat-list page uses the word.
