Series 4: Horizon Mascot Party. Per Playground Games, the update became available for download on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app on PC and Steam at 5:00 p.m. UTC on August 10, 2026, with its Festival Playlist beginning August 13 and the wider event running through September 10, 2026.
New cars. Playground Games lists three new-to-Horizon vehicles arriving with the update — the 1970 Honda N600, the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the 2018 Exomotive Exocet Sport V8 XP-5 — plus four further Car Pass vehicles.
New features. The update page states it adds sign-language interpreter options for cinematics, a temporary Evolving World "Edamame Time Attack Circuit," and 48 new mascot-themed EventLab props.

Background

Forza Horizon 6 was announced on September 25, 2025 during an Xbox Tokyo Game Show broadcast, per Xbox's own announcement page, which confirmed the Japan setting and a Tokyo City area the developers describe as the largest urban environment in the franchise's history. Xbox's Developer_Direct breakdown, published January 22, 2026, added that the game would ship with a new track-focused "R" vehicle class.

The game released worldwide on May 19, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Premium Edition owners getting early access from May 15 — details confirmed on the game's official Steam storefront listing, which also credits Playground Games as developer and Xbox Game Studios as publisher. A PlayStation 5 version was confirmed at the same Developer_Direct for release "later in 2026," with no specific date set as of this reading. On review day, Metacritic recorded a 92 score for the Xbox Series X/S version across 62 critic reviews, tying the franchise's previous best, per Tech Times' report dated May 16, 2026.

How the Game Works

Forza Horizon 6 is an open-world racing game built around the Horizon Festival format the series is known for, relocated to a recreated Japan spanning city, rural and mountain terrain. Per Xbox's own pages, the roster includes more than 550 licensed cars, a dedicated track-focused R class, and EventLab tools for building and sharing custom races and layouts, including the CoLab feature for building alongside other players. That is the limit of what we are stating first-party. We have not played Forza Horizon 6 and we are not going to describe event difficulty, tuning setups or which cars perform best from other sites' summaries — if we cannot trace it to an official Playground Games or Xbox page ourselves, it does not go on this page.

Codes

Forza Horizon 6 does not have a Roblox-style list of text codes redeemed through an in-game menu. The closest current equivalent was a limited-time promotion: Crunchyroll members could claim a free in-game Car Voucher, redeemable for any vehicle in the game's Autoshow except Festival Playlist and Car Pack cars, per Game Rant's report, published May 7, 2026. The code had to be claimed through Crunchyroll's own campaign page by May 31, 2026 — a window that has closed — and redeemed through Xbox's official redemption page by September 30, 2026. Game Rant reported the promotion required an active, paid Crunchyroll membership, a minimum age of eighteen, and was not available on the PS5 version.
