Devsisters shipped the game's first major update on August 13, 2026. We were refused a direct read of the official update notice on X, so the following is drawn from two outlets that covered it: cookieruncrumble.net (dated August 8, 2026, previewing the update off Devsisters' own Q2 2026 earnings call) and Roonby (dated August 14, 2026, reporting the update after it shipped). Both describe the same additions: an SSR Water Charge Cookie, Cool Mint Cookie; a new farming area, the Rune Crystal Dungeon, which drops Rune Crystals used to craft Sugar Runes; bulk-clearing of Guide Quests once 30 stages are cleared; bulk levelling for your active lineup; and auto-baking raised to 20 gear pieces at once. Two limited events ran alongside it — the Rune Crystal Dungeon Conquest and the King Choco Drops Roulette — plus a 7-Day Check-In login event. The developer of record is Studio Kingdom, a Devsisters subsidiary, per Inven Global's July 30, 2026 report, which also puts the launch roster at 69 Cookies and 54 Pets and records the game opening play with three starting Cookies — Dark Cherry Cookie, Grapevine Cookie and Berry Yogurt Cookie — per GamesBeat's July 30, 2026 coverage. Devsisters' own press release states players build teams of up to 12 Cookies with accompanying Pets — larger than the 5-Cookie teams in the older CookieRun: Kingdom. The official CookieRun: Crumble site, read directly on August 17, 2026, sets the game in the Choco Drop Kingdom, where players join the Crumble Mercenary Guild, and lists six modes by name: Crumble Dungeon, Implant Tower, Arena, Crumb Scramble, Pet and Guild. The site's own line on Crumble Dungeon calls it a fight against "the Holy Golden Drop" to push a score as high as possible. The site does not explain how teams are actually built, so for that we are relying on Roonby's July 31, 2026 team-building breakdown rather than presenting it as first-party: Cookies and Pets each carry a one-directional "Giver" or "Receiver" synergy trait, where a Giver's active skill buffs matching Receivers in its effect radius for a few seconds at a time, rather than applying to the whole lineup automatically. That is the extent of what we can source. We are not describing stage-by-stage routes, drop rates or a "best team" — we have not played the game and no first-party rate disclosure is public.
